America by Bike

3,000 miles in 30 days

Riding from Costa Mesa on the Pacific Coast just south of Los Angeles to the Atlantic Coast near Savannah in Georgia seemed like a good idea when my daughter,  Rose Keating,  first mentioned it. “Wanna come along,” she asked. “Yeah, why not,”  I replied with the casualness that comes from accepting any invitation that’s so far over the horizon you kid yourself  it’ll never happen. Except now six months and 6,000 training kilometres later it is happening. And I’m asking myself why.  This blog charts our progress across the states from April 20th to May 16th 2014.
